Lacrosse Commissioner
As our Lacrosse Commissioner, Mike Schweizer, steps down, DSA would like to thank Mike for his time and dedication to the lacrosse program. DSA is excited to welcome our new Lacrosse Commissioner, Caitlin Faunce. Caitlin comes to DSA as a long time lacrosse player and proud DSA lacrosse parent. She is excited to rebuild the lacrosse program for the community with help from the new assistant commissioner, Ryan Hill. Stay tuned for some exciting upgrades to the program. BASEBALL
Select Tryouts & Select Coaches
We know that the Fall baseball season has just started, but we're already planning for our Spring 2023 season. Tryouts for the DSA Spring 2023 Select Baseball teams will begin the first week of November. If you're interested in coaching or assistant coaching for a Select team for the Spring 2023 season, please contact Josh Derby (DSABaseballSelect@gmail.com). Coaching opportunities are available for all ages (8-14).
WRESTLING
Wrestling Starts Soon- Registration will Open September 15
DSA Wrestling is starting soon! Wrestling is a great sport that teaches many life lessons. (https://www.theschoolofwrestling.com/why-kids-should-wrestle/). Prior experience is not required for anyone interested in learning this great sport.
New and still-developing wrestlers can join the intramural team, while more experienced wrestlers should join the beltway team. Intramural teams practice 2x/week and compete in the Damascus Sports Association Wrestling League and will have matches on Saturday mornings. The Beltway team competes in the Top of the Podium League and will practice 3x/week. Most beltway tournaments will be on Sundays. All wrestlers signing up for beltway are expected to make the commitment to being at all practices and competitions.
Registration for both levels will open on 9/15. Visit www.dsasports.org to sign up. Practices for both levels will begin in November (beltway in early-November, intramural in mid-November).

BASKETBALL
Winter Season Right Around the Corner
It's almost that time! DSA Basketball's winter season is right around the corner. DSA Basketball offers the Hoopsters Basketball League (all players K-3rd grade), Cougars Rec (girls and boys teams, 4th-8th grade), and Cougars Select (girls & boys teams, 5th-8th grade) during the winter season. Cougars Rec is for players interested in a fun winter season, with a lower level of competition and time commitment. All players who register will be placed on a team. Cougars Select is a tryout based team that competes at a higher skill level and features more of a time and travel commitment. Players will register for a free tryout during the open registration. All levels will open registrations on Thursday September 15th. Visit www.dsasport.org to sign up. Be on the lookout on social media for more details regarding the upcoming winter season. Tryouts for Cougars Select will be held in early to mid October. Hoopsters player evaluation day will be in late November. Hoopsters and Cougars Rec begin practices in early December and games in early January. Cougars Select begin practicing in late November and games also begin the first week of January.
New DSA Basketball Leadership
DSA Basketball would love to welcome our new leadership team. James Schneider is our new commissioner, and Mike Boccobella will be transitioning from Hoopsters Director to Assistant Commissioner. Former commissioner Wesley Marshall will continue to assist through the winter season to ensure a smooth transition. We are extremely excited about the new team, as well as the large group of new coaches that joined DSA Basketball the last few seasons.

We are looking for coaches at all grade & skill levels for the upcoming winter season. Last year we had over 275 players, and 30 teams across all ages. Season Volunteers
DSA Basketball is in need of volunteers for the upcoming winter season. Needs range from single projects to season long positions. Our new team is excited to hit the ground running and is in need of energetic community members to assist in all things DSA Basketball. We are flexible, and able to tailor needs to volunteer available time. Sponsorship Opportunities
DSA Basketball is currently seeking program sponsors to help build take the program to the next level and hopefully offset individual player costs moving forward. Becoming a sponsor for DSA Basketball not only helps the community but provides an excellent exposure opportunity for your business. As a program we have averaged over 250 players the last three full seasons. We currently have a little under 1000 followers on Instagram and host the Hoopsters youth league at Clearspring ES, which is attended by about 100-125 families every Sunday during the season. We are looking for a title sponsor for our Hoopsters League, uniform & warm up shirt sponsors, as well as opportunities to hang a banner during our Hoopsters league during the winter season.
