About the Damascus Lacrosse Program:
Damascus Boys and Girls Lacrosse participates in the Western Maryland Youth Lacrosse Conference (WMYLC). The league includes teams from Montgomery County, Fredrick, Carroll, and Washington Counties. This is a travel league with home games played at the Damascus Recreation Center and away games at the home field of the host team. Games are typically played on Saturday but there is a strong possibility of weekday and/or Sunday games.
Damascus Lacrosse fields teams within the WMYLC league in both “A” (competitive) and “B” (developmental) Divisions for Boys & Girls on the Grade Based Model (see below). Teams will be formed based upon the number of players registered and if needed, player abilities. Where possible or required, DSA will conduct player evaluations prior to the beginning of the season to divide and assign players to the appropriate team. Our goal is to make sure your child is playing at the right level of competition so he has an enjoyable experience.
Damascus offers the US LADM Model for both Boys & Girls. Teams will practice between 2-3 hours per week, depending on field space, schedules, daylight and age group. Home games are usually on Saturdays (6-8 games, plus playoffs). The first practice & game date(s) will be determined when field permits are awarded & teams are formed in early March. All of our practice fields are in the Damascus\Clarksburg\Germantown area.
Pre-K & K (Scoopers) – New for 2022, DSA will one (or more) Scoopers team. Scoopers is a co-ed, small-side, 5x5 version of lacrosse with no goalies. Only a stick & protective eye wear/mouth guard are required. DSA is looking to accquire youth lacrosse sticks to provide to each Scoopers player.
